The technology of liquid-phase alkylation of benzene to ethylbenzene catalyzed by molecular sieves features low reaction temperature, few side reactions, low energy consumption, and high product purity. Further developing a liquid-phase alkylation technology with a low benzene-olefin ratio approaching stoichiometry to reduce the benzene circulation amount is the development trend of low-carbon ethylbenzene production. An energy-saving series of EBC catalysts for liquid-phase alkylation of benzene with a low benzene-olefin ratio has been developed based on ultrathin layered MWW molecular sieves.
