Overview:

Isopropylbenzene technology is based on propylene and benzene as raw materials, through alkylation and alkyl transfer to produce isopropylbenzene, isopropylbenzene is the raw material for the production of phenol and acetone, phenol is mainly used in the production of phenolic resin, epoxy resin, polycarbonate and so on. Since 1990, the research on liquid phase synthesis of isopropylbenzene has successfully developed BTA-01 and BTA-02 catalysts based on ultra-fine nano-beta zeolite and MP-01 and MP-02 catalysts based on organosilicon hybrid layered zeolite SRZ-21. Based on the above catalyst, a complete set of energy-saving isopropylbenzene technology was developed.

The project has obtained 41 Chinese authorized invention patents, 18 foreign-authorized invention patents, and won 1 second prize of National Technological invention, 1 second prize of Sinopec Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of Shanghai Technological Invention, 2 second prize of Sinopec Technological Invention, and 1 China Patent Excellence Award. Isopropylbenzene complete set technology:

Isopropylbenzene technology through the liquid phase alkylation method to synthesize isopropylbenzene, its technical characteristics are as follows:

(1) Very low energy consumption: the operating benzene ratio of the device is as low as 2.0, which greatly reduces energy consumption and equipment investment.

(2) Very low material consumption: the material consumption of the device is close to the theoretical value, the material consumption of propylene is as low as 0.351 0 tons/ton of product, and the material consumption of benzene is as low as 0.6523 tons/ton of product.

(3) Excellent product quality: the highly selective catalyst inhibits the side reaction, so the purity of the product is 99.96%, the content of the impurities n-propylbenzene is less than 300ppm, and the impurities such as ethylbenzene, butadiene and A-methylstyrene are also very small.

(4) Maximum raw material flexibility: the catalyst has good anti-impurity performance, propylene raw materials can be used including polymerization grade, chemical grade and refinery grade, benzene raw materials can be used petroleum benzene, can also be used hydrobenzene.


Isopropylbenzene series catalysts:

At present, the main brands of isopropylbenzene catalysts include BTA series and MP series catalysts, and the main product features are as follows:

(1) High activity: Using BTA series catalysts, propylene is completely converted, and diisopropylbenzene conversion is high; Using MP series catalyst, the propylene can be completely transformed at low temperature and high space speed, and the material consumption is close to the theoretical value.

(2) High selectivity: The use of BTA series catalysts, the device's recombinant sub-cycle ii = isopropylbenzene significantly reduced, reducing material consumption and energy consumption. Using MP series catalyst, the operating benzene ratio is reduced to 2.0, which greatly reduces the energy consumption;

(3) High stability: the use of BTA series catalyst, life more than 6 years, hot benzene washing cycle more than 6 months; The use of MP series catalyst, catalyst life of more than 8 years, to maintain a long period of stable operation, to maintain the reaction performance during operation.

(4) Environmentally friendly: the catalyst has no harmful components and corrosive components, does not pollute the environment, and is renewable.


Promotion and application:

The complete set of isopropylbenzene technology has been licensed to 3 enterprises, in 2010, 300,000 tons/year of isopropylbenzene equipment was built in Tianjin (Zhongsha) Petrochemical, 240,000 tons/year of isopropylbenzene equipment was licensed in 2019, isopropylbenzene series catalysts have been applied to 6 sets of Gaoqiao petrochemical equipment, and exported to Europe.
