Bird's nest support agent is typically filled beneath the catalyst bed. Its main function is to provide effective support to the main catalyst, preventing fine catalyst particles from leaking into the lower bed or outlet collector. When oil and gas flow through the catalyst bed, their velocity significantly slows down as they pass through the bird's nest support agent layer. This slowing of flow velocity can greatly reduce the speed of eddies and turbulence.
